Of course we can file and manage volumes of matters with the best, at a moment’s notice, and across time zones, but we do so with a personal touch, an understanding and appreciation of you, and with value that follows decades of experience.
We did not conjure up this venture overnight. Privus has been years in the making - over 27 years - of personal relationships, shared experiences, successes, failures, marks, adversaries, industries, and personalities. Listening is the foundation of communication. Many with strong credentials can verbalize at length about how special they are, how impressed you should be, and why you should pipe down and listen up. And they will do so without active listening or reflective understanding. Who are you? What troubles you? What do you seek? What do you need? Where do you want to go? How do you get there? What questions are relevant to uncover, understand, and address the issues at hand?
We hear you. And we listen. We seek understanding. It is easy to take a question at face value, spit out the textbook answer, and consider the issue settled. However, the obvious questions are only the beginning, and their answers often fail to resolve the real problem. Solutions of value do not arise from mechanical application of legal training. They do not fit within a standard template or issues grid. Practical, creative solutions to complex problems require not only an understanding of what is said but of what is not said. That requires an iterative process of active listening, perceiving, processing, and clarifying, through multiple lenses and voices.
As technicians, we could limit ourselves to the instructions provided, or to the issue of the moment. But as professionals, we read the situation in context, ask questions, and employ experience and intuition to address the underlying problem and avoid future problems. That is our value.
